There are only two widely accepted leaves in Islam. By universal, I mean both Sunni and Shia Muslims celebrate them inversely. These two leaves are Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha.
First, let me break down the language.
-The word"Eid" in Arabic, just means" festivity" or" jubilee."
-"Fitr" means" breaking the fast" and"Adha" means" immolation."
Thus, Eid ul-Fitr means the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast and Eid ul-Adha means the Festival of the Immolation. Eid ul-Fitr seizes the spot after the month of Ramadan stops. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims must gormandize a day from dawn till dusk. This obligation is one among the Five Pillars of Islam.
Muslims celebrate the top of the month of Ramadan with Eid ul-Fitr, hence the name. Eid ul-Adha seizes place during the Hajj season. The Hajj may be a passage Muslims must make to the Kaaba within the megacity of Mecca in ultramodern- day Saudi Arabia. All Muslims are needed to complete this trip at least formerly in their continuance if they can.
During the Hajj, the pilgrims immolate a lamb. Both the Old Testament and the Quran mention a story where Abraham was ordered to immolate his son by God. Jews and Christians believe this son was Isaac, but utmost Muslims believe this son was Ishmael. When Abraham showed he loved God enough to immolate his son on command, God ordered a lamb be offered rather and spared Ishmael. The immolation in Hajj is to commemorate this event. And Eid ul-Adha, the Festival of the Immolation, also celebrates this event.
Both Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha are famed also.
Muslims start the day beforehand and attend a standard forum, generally a synagogue or open field. There they produce a special prayer followed by a brief homily from the Imam ( leader). They also gather for special refections, meet with family and musketeers, and give charity and gifts. The only difference is that in Eid ul-Adha, the Festival of the Immolation, it's common for a lamb, scapegoat, cow, or camel to be massacred also. While there are other leaves celebrated by Muslims, none of them is as widely accepted as Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr.
